Why an Apprenticeship?

An apprenticeship in the construction trades offers many benefits, including earning a competitive wage while learning your trade, on the job training and mentorship from a Journeyman/woman in your craft, classroom instruction in the theory and hands on instruction, gaining valuable skills and experience, while leading to higher-paying jobs and career advancement. These programs provide a structured pathway to a skilled trade, combining on-the-job training with classroom instruction.

The training & instruction is free for the
apprentice.

 Local Training Centers: 

Skill Acquisition:

Most apprenticeship programs are taught at training centers in San Luis Obispo and Santa Barbara Counties.

Programs provide hands-on training and instruction in a specific trade, leading to a comprehensive skill set and a Journeyman/woman designation on completion of the program.

Career Advancement & Wage Increases:

As an apprentice completes portions of the instruction and accumulates hours on the job their pay and benefit packages is increased.
